Alex Elena has made quite a name for himself in a very short time. It was his mind behind the conceptual "For Lovers, Dreamers & Me" album for soul singer Alice Smith that includes the 2008 Grammy-nominated "Best Urban/Alternative Performance" for 'Dream.' In addition to devising Alice’s sound, a powerhouse vocal backed by a wall of Beatles-esque arrangements, Alex also co-wrote the album.

After completing the Alice Smith record, Alex moved west and settled in Los Angeles where he set up his own studio. He partnered up with friend Joshua Valleau and together they co-produced Michelle Shaprow (P-Vine Records, Japan and Leaplay Music, Korea), Lola, Twenty to Twelve, and The Ruby Friedman Orchestra.

Other recent accomplishments include the debut album for current buzz band Pin Me Down, the apocalyptic pop duo of Russell Lissack (from the British band Bloc Party) & songwriter Milena Mepris, O.C. rockers Hong Kong Six, Xolie Morra, Topher Mohr (of Mayer Hawthorne & The County), Tarka Cordell, Belladonna (co-produced with long time friend Daniele Macchi), and Harlan.

Alex recently worked on a track with Lily Allen for the upcoming release of the "Tarka Cordell and Friends" tribute record. Other tracks that he produced for this album include artists Imani Coppola and The Ruby Friedman Orchestra. Alex is currently working on Kori Withers debut album as well as a project called California Drones (featuring Tim Philips, Alexander John Wallace Dickson & Alex Elena). Most recently, he finished production on Josh Smith’s debut solo EP.
